A Last Minute Staycation

After a slow and fairly boring start to the school holidays with me trying to get work done while the kids amused themselves at home for a few days I thought it might be nice to treat them to a little night away in a hotel and visit the Werribee Zoo.

So I literally rang an hour before we left and booked a room at The Werribee Holiday Inn which I had read about and it looked fantastic.

Little did I know a buffet breakfast was included in the rate I’d booked which totally blew the kids’ minds. I’m talking waffles, eggs, bacon, sausages, fruit, pancake machine, muesli, yoghurt, pastries… you name it! Like a breakfast utopia!

After filling up on breakfast we hit up the open range zoo to go on a safari. Because we’re zoo members entry is free to all three Melbourne zoos including this one. It’s such a fabulous place. The kids hadn’t been since before the pandemic so the younger two hardly remembered it. We had a blast. My favourite are always the gorgeous giraffes!
